How to become a part of the HSL T20 spectacle

Eligibility

Open to all players from the 12 districts of Himachal Pradesh. Valid domicile/ID required.

District Trials

The next open trials are scheduled for 11 April 2026 at Durga Public School, Solan for player shortlisting.

The Auction

The player auction is scheduled for 12 April 2026, where shortlisted players will go under the hammer before the franchises.

  • The organizing committee’s decisions are final and binding in all matters.
  • Players must adhere to the state-level eligibility and registration policies.
  • Anti-doping and anti-corruption codes will be strictly enforced.
  • Matches will be played under ICC/BCCI T20 rules with local HSL amendments.
  • Any violation of rules will invite strict disciplinary action or suspension.

Tournament Details

Official rules & guidelines from the HSL T20 brochure

Eligibility Criteria

  • Players must be residents of Himachal Pradesh or have a valid domicile certificate.
  • Players must provide proof of age and residency.
  • Teams can consist of a maximum of 15 players.
  • Teams can have a mix of experienced and amateur players.

Tournament Format

  • 8 to 12 franchise teams will participate.
  • League stage: Round-robin format — each team plays every other team.
  • Top 4 teams qualify for playoffs (Semifinals + Final).
  • Semifinals: 1st vs 4th & 2nd vs 3rd.
  • Each match is T20 format — maximum 20 overs per team.
  • Points System: Win = 2 pts | Tie/No Result = 1 pt | Loss = 0 pts.
  • Day & Night matches: slots at 9 AM, 2 PM, 6 PM, and 8 PM.

Team Composition

  • Team roster: 15 members — 11 playing XI + 4 reserves/substitutes.
  • Main squad: 13 players + 2 standby reserves.
  • Each team has 1 Captain and 1 Vice-Captain.

Impact Player Rule

  • Each team can designate one "Impact Player" per match.
  • Impact Player can replace another player after 14 overs.
  • Must be announced before the toss.
  • The replaced player cannot participate in the match further.
  • Impact Player can bat, bowl, or field normally.

Facilities Provided by Organizers

  • Cricket balls, stumps, and all necessary match equipment.
  • First aid and medical support during all matches.
  • Refreshments and amenities for players and officials.
  • Accommodation: 5 hotel rooms per team for the tournament duration.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided for players and team officials.
  • Prize money and trophies for winners and runners-up.

Player Auction Process

  • Step 1: Players register for the auction with base price/valuation.
  • Step 2: Official auction list is released before the event.
  • Step 3: Franchise teams bid competitively to acquire players.
  • Step 4: Player is sold to the highest bidder.
  • Teams aim to build a balanced squad with star players, young talent, and support roles.

Entry Process for Teams

  • Entry Fee: ₹3,50,000 (Three Lakh Fifty Thousand) per team.
  • Payment Method: Bank transfer or online payment gateway.
  • Entry Deadline: 2nd February 2026.
  • Required Documents: Team roster with player details, payment receipt, and team captain's contact information.
  • Refund Policy: 50% refund if withdrawn before deadline; No refund after deadline.
